obama goes abroad

About a month ago I got an e-mail from a German man asking if I could ship him an Obama pillow. I quickly said yes and then inquired as to how he had found out about my pillows. Turns out someone who bought one of my pillows has a pretty snazzy New York apartment that made the cover of German Architectural Digest!!!! I nearly screamed when I saw Obama front and center on the cover. I'm still somewhat speechless. I apologize for how small the picture is, so far this is the only one I have been able to get my hands on.

les oiseaux

I can't claim this idea as my own, but I do adore it! I originally saw it on a wedding blog, the bride had hung them in trees around the wedding ceremony. So easy to make!

patchwork USA, finally finished!

After a little less than a year I have finally completed by Patchwork USA! I must say my United States geography has improved dramatically since beginning this project.

parties = a perfect excuse to decorate.

So lately I've become more than a little obsessed with a number of wedding and event design blogs. When I was home over Christmas my friend Catherine and I decided to throw a party, yes we wanted to get our lovely friends together, but more than that...we wanted to make things! I must say it turned out pretty fab! If only I could convince my boyfriend to allow me to put a permanent one in our living room...

pennant decor

Pennants seem to be making a comeback lately. I realize it wasn't very original of me to make my own set, but it was fun. Sometimes you cant help but to follow the masses. They're a fun and easy way to pep up a corner...and their easily relocated. I'm thinking that their next location should be the front porch.

treasure city fashion show

A couple weekends ago I helped out local designer Melissa Taylor of Katastrophic Designs with some jewelry for her looks that walked the runway at the 3rd annual Treasure City Fashion show. All the clothes made of recycled clothing. It was a crazy event. Above, the model wears a headbands and an earring of mine. the second picture was taken by austin360.com of Melissa and I.

mini address/number keeper.

i realize everyone and their grandma has a smart phone these days but sometimes its fun to be old fashion. this little address/number mini book is made of recycled subscription tear outs and fits perfectly into its little grey pouch. So much more satisfying than an application. no?

renegade craft fair

I've just submitted my application to the Austin Renegade Craft Fair! I went to one in San Francisco two summers ago and was super impressed, lots of great stuff and cool crafty people. If I go I'll be bringing my pillows and a slew of accessories and cards. Can't wait to get going making stuff!

cards

A few of my new cards, envelopes included!

so fun!

This summer I had the pleasure of making the above wedding banner for Allison and Berrys wedding, last month they had a splendid write up in FDlux magazine about their gorgeous Maine wedding and my banner made it into one of the photos. So happy with how it turned out and even happier that they loved it!

buttom time.

i'm posting this picture to pump me up for a button making session this weekend, all of these have sold, but don't think I cant top em!

headbands!

I was inspired by marc jacobs and sonia rykiel spring/summer 07 collections a few years back to start making headbands. Above are a few of my favorites so far...

A patchwork U.S.A

Sew obviously i'm on a patriotic kick...this is the beggings of my latest project...err homework distraction. Soon to be the lower 48 in all its cardboard patchwork glory. I'm up to 23 states thus far. My exacto is getting dull but there's no stopping me now.
